Industrial felts for the aerospace industry
BWF Protec ranks worldwide as the leader in the development and production of industrial felts. Our customers can choose from a broad and deep range of technical needle felts. The many varieties of synthetic and inorganic fibres and the numerous possibilities for processing are constantly opening up new areas of application.
Our competence in the development and production of high-tec felts enables us to offer custom-made solutions. Variables such as fibre, density and surface finish are combined to the best effect for the specific application. The BWF laboratories are constantly producing prototypes for new precision felts to meet our customers’ specifications and to offer more advantageous alternatives.
Technical needle felts
Technical needle felts are used in the widest and most different areas for all conceivable purposes. This includes laser printers, protective clothing, vehicles and high temperature isolation. Close communication with the customer is of enormous value to us. Comprehensive advisory services on product application along with constructive co-operation with the customer ensure optimum results. We bring the vision of our customers to reality: with innovative ideas, the highest level of technical competence and total personal commitment.
Synthetic fibres for transport, covering and sealing applications
BWF Protec processes all synthetic fibres like polyester, polyamide, polyacryl, polyethylene and Polypropylene for transport, covering or sealing materials and also for other industrial applications.
We also process high-tech-fibres like Nomex®, Kevlar®, Twaron®, Panox®, Sigrafil®, Kermel®, Basofil®, P84®, Lenzing FR®, Kynol®, Teflon® (PTFE), Zylon® (PBO), PBI®, Dyneema® and other well-known brand fibres for special heat protection applications.
In addition to authentic needle felt materials, we produce blends made of different fibre types and additional textile finishings. Sandwich-constructions and felts with scrim are also possible.
Multilayered synthetic materials
In addition to roll goods, innovative high-tech products with excellent characteristics are produced in round needled or endless form.
Made from almost all known brands of fibres, also as multi-layered products, in various raw material blends and with or without scrims, the needlona® endless round needled articles can be produced in a variety of IDs and ODs, i.e. with variable circumferences, depending on the material and the product, the density and weight.
Fire-blocking felts
BWF FireGuard® fireblocker can be found in many locations e.g. seats, ceiling and wall linings in the aviation industry.
BWF Protec produces different fire-blocking felts under the brand name BWF FireGuard® made from high-tech raw material, resulting in a textile offering excellent flame and heat resistant properties. The essential innovative product benefits are that BWF FireGuard® is inherently flame resistant, self-extinguishing, non-melting and non-dripping. It also offers low thermal shrinkage and, in case of fire, superior low smoke and low toxicity emission.
BWF FireGuard® brand-textile fire blocking fabric is the best way to design high quality furniture that combines safety, seating comfort as well as high durability and is able to meet current and future flammability standards.
In addition to fireblockers which meet fire protection classifications DIN 5510-2, UIC 564-2, NF F16-101 or FAR 25.853 in various industries and fields of applications we are also able to offer solutions against vandalism.
