Remote Visual Inspections Ltd Inspection of Jet Engines and Auxiliary Power Units (APU)
Remote Visual Inspections (RVI) Ltd specialises in independent borescope inspections of jet and turbine engines, as well as auxiliary power units (APU).
We provide a detailed written report and interactive DVD recording of all inspections carried out.
We hold EASA approval from the UK CAA and FAA approval from the American FAA, which allows us to certify the inspection and issue a dual release EASA Form 1 assuming that the engine is serviceable.
Experience in borescope inspections
RVI Ltd has been operating since 2004 and our inspectors have many years of aircraft maintenance and inspection experience, with all holding UK CAA aircraft maintenance licenses. We consider ourselves one of the industry leaders in independent borescope inspections. We are flexible to suit airlines’ busy schedules and available 24/7 worldwide.
Identifying defects on jets and turbine engines
We use the most up-to-date equipment to perform our borescope inspections, with the Olympus IPLEX FX system; from this we can produce an interactive video recording on DVD.
Defects that have been noted during the inspection can be accurately measured and recorded. The equipment can be used in remote areas as it is powered by re-chargeable batteries.
Inspection and certification of jet engines
After the inspection has been performed and found within maintenance manual limits, a dual release, EASA Form 1 will be issued under our part 145 approval UK.145.01009 and FAA approval RQ6Y406C.
This is often done onsite if time constraints allow it. A detailed written report will be produced along with a DVD recording of the inspection. These will be prepared in our offices and normally sent out within 48 hours, while the reports can be emailed as soon as they are produced and we use cloud storage to make the videos available as soon as they are uploaded.
Borescope inspections
All jet and turbine engine borescope inspections are performed in accordance with the current maintenance manuals. These inspections are required for many reasons, such as the continued airworthiness of the engine through routine inspections, condition monitoring, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, end-of-lease, start-of-lease or sale. RVI Ltd regularly performs all of these.
Accurate lease return inspections
RVI Ltd offers its services to leasing companies, finance houses, maintenance facilities and airlines for the continual management of their engines. The change of lease return inspections can be very costly if inaccurate data is supplied; at RVI Ltd, we pride ourselves on our experience to deliver quality and accuracy.
Our inspections are always carried out with the utmost impartiality. It does not matter if the engine is serviceable or not; when we find an unserviceable engine, we work closely with our client and the relevant engine manufacturer to help and assist in solving the problem.
Internal structural inspection of aircraft airframes
Although engine inspections are our main business, we have been requested and have performed internal structural inspections of aircraft airframes.
Inspections are not just limited to aircraft, we have performed inspections for the motor industry, such as on a Ferrari California, we have also been requested to inspect remote areas of machinery for foreign objects and the interior structure of a valuable bronze statue.
