The Investment Casting Specialist TITAL is happy about the increased interest of the motorsport industry in innovative aluminium and titanium investment casting components.
The company, based in Bestwig, mainly delivers to manufacturers in the aerospace industry, but has alsoestablished itself for quite some time as a supplier to the premium motorsport sector.
"Our aerospace customers focus on especially light-weight components. Reduced weight means savings in terms of fuel and money.
In motorsport, every gram saved will guarantee better weight distribution and this might be the decisive advantage," said Rainer Sabisch, engineering manager at TITAL, explaining the differences between aviation and motor sport industries.
The German specialists use the rapid prototyping process for the production of gearboxes, as well as motor and chassis components from aluminium and titanium for renowned racing teams eg. for Formula 1. TITAL castings distinguish themselves by their high complexity and low weight, while having the best material grades.
This year TITAL will present its knowledge at the Professional MotorSport World Expo in Cologne. More than 230 exhibitors and 7,000 visitors will be expected in Cologne from 12th to 14th November, where representatives from all kinds of motor sport will come together to exchange the latest innovations in their industry.
