The Farnborough International Air show prides itself on facilitating first-class business opportunities for the global aerospace industry.
As one of the world’s largest exhibitions and air displays, the show provides a wealth of dedicated and focused business platforms.
FIA organisers have developed a number of features with the objective of allowing visitors and exhibitors even better networking opportunities in emerging sectors.
The Space, UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) and Innovation Zones provide a platform to showcase the developing technology used within these sectors with company exhibits, product briefings, conferences and demonstrations.
FIA saw representation from over 39 countries in 2014, hosting 18 National Pavilions including the US, Europe, South America and the Middle East, as well as standalone exhibitors. National Pavilions are an excellent opportunity for SME organisations to participate in the show and secure new export sales. In 2014, FIA saw over 230 US companies participating as part of the US Pavilion – its biggest presence to date.
Mainframe manufacturers choose the Farnborough International Airshow to showcase their military and commercial aircraft. FIA has a strong history of firsts from the premier of the Vickers V-Bombers in 1951, the Concord flypast in 1971 to both the Airbus A380 and Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner both making their debut appearance at the FIA.
FIA is located at the Farnborough Aerodrome in Hampshire, an area long steeped in aviation history from the first powered flight by Samuel Cody in 1908 to the testing site for the Hawker Hurricane. The Air show site is a natural amphitheatre and the hospitality chalets are built on its terraces along the run-way allowing perfect viewing of the air display. The construction of new permanent Row A Chalets is the first a line of improvements at the show making participation easier and more cost effective for participants.
