Franke Industrie AG has acquired Ammatec GmbH in order to expand its aerospace market segment.
On April 18, the global supplier of hot gas path components for gas turbines and aero engines, Franke Industrie AG, based in Aarburg, Switzerland, acquired Ammatec GmbH based in Ampfing, Germany.
Ammatec GmbH is an established supplier to the aero industry of complex precision components made from difficult-to-machine materials.
“The acquisition of Ammatec is a major step forward in the German expansion of our strategically important aerospace business segment,” explains Markus Hodel, managing director of Franke Industrie AG. “In many respects, the commercial activities of the two companies are very similar. Like Franke, Ammatec is also certified in line with the most demanding aero industry standards and has also established itself as a reliable partner to renowned customers.”
Hodel also stresses the matching of key competencies such as providing customers with outstanding technical expertise in overcoming complex business challenges.
Ammatec’s business activities will be transferred to the recently founded Franke Industrie GmbH and will continue to be controlled from the current site in Ampfing. Not only will the company continue to work with its current customers such as MTU Aero Engines and Rolls-Royce, but it will also take on work as part of the strategic expansion of the aerospace division, under the leadership of Franke Industrie AG.
The workforce of around 60 and the management team under Tilmann Rosch are to be retained.
