ACS-NAI, Ltd., EMTEQ’s Canadian location, is now offering a certified solution for the lav/galley water heater on Bombardier Challenger 600-1A11/-2A12/-2B16 aircraft.
On February 10, 2009 Transport Canada issued a Service Difficulty Alert (AL-2009-01) indicating that in several cases the thermostat on the lav/galley water heater failed, causing temperatures to rise and the water heater’s insulation and adjacent aircraft insulation to overheat and smoke. On March 3, 2010, Bombardier released an Advisory Wire (AW600-38-2319, Rev. 3) informing operators of ACS-NAI’s certified replacement for the water heater originally installed by KC Aviation.
ACS-NAI’s Water Heater Kit replaces heating and insulation components of KC Aviation’s custom-designed water heater (P/N/ 444-0007). The kit will eliminate potential overheat and scalding hazards, and is a less expensive, less labor-intensive option to replacing the entire tank and heater.
Furthermore, ACS-NAI’s kit for Bombardier CL600 aircraft is Transport Canada (SA10-9), EASA (10029833) and FAA (ST6606NY) certified. The kit is also designed for Hawker 125, Dassault Falcon F50, F200, Gulfstream G1159/G1159B, GIV, Lockheed Jetstar, Jetstar 2, Jetstream 4101, and Sikorsky S76.
