Transaero, Russia’s second largest carrier, has chosen EMTEQ as its partner for its cabin-wide LED mood lighting upgrade for its 767 fleet.
EMTEQ’s mood lighting upgrade is highly customisable and will allow Transaero to provide a truly unique travel experience for passengers while also reinforcing Transaero’s brand. In addition to enhancing the passenger experience, EMTEQ’s state-of-the-art LED lighting system still offers Transaero weight and maintenance savings when compared to the existing fluorescent tube fixtures.
"Transaero elected to make the LED mood lighting upgrade one of the core aspects of their cabin refresh as a cost-effective means of upgrading the entire cabin to deliver a higher quality experience for all of their passengers," said Ed Callahan, director of business development at EMTEQ.
To allow for the modification to be done quickly and to reduce the workload on the Transaero team, EMTEQ is also providing system integration engineering for the lighting system. EMTEQ provides airlines a unique opportunity to work with a single partner for both the lighting upgrade, as well as the engineering and required certification services.
This is the second upgrade programme that Transaero has done with EMTEQ’s LED lighting. In early 2013, Transaero worked with Fokker Services in upgrading the Transaero 737-800 fleet with EMTEQ’s drop-in eFIT LED lighting system.
EMTEQ’s eFIT system allows 737NG operators to upgrade their older aircraft with a drop-in LED lighting upgrade that offers a clean, crisp white as well as blue lighting so that the older aircraft are more in-line with the newly delivered 737NG’s. This eliminates the traditional fluorescent tube system that yellows the cabin. The upgrade was completed with no wiring or switch panel changes as a true drop-in upgrade.
EMTEQ continues to be a leader in the aerospace industry with innovative LED technology that advances the passenger experience while providing solutions to reduce maintenance time and expense.
