Data Device Corporation (DDC) introduces updated software development kits (SDK) for MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429 data bus applications that support symmetric multi-processing (SMP) under the latest Linux operating system versions. SMP support can increase the performance of a Linux system.
DDC’s SDK’s allow users to develop C-source codes to simulate, monitor, or troubleshoot 1553 and / or ARINC 429 data buses simultaneously or independently, with support for Linux 2.6 with symmetric multi-processing and hyper-threading. This SDK allows you to quickly integrate DDC’s cards into your C-code applications. A common SDK exists across multiple operating systems, allowing the programmer portability across different platforms. The easy-to-use high-level functions abstract all low level hardware accesses and memory allocation, such that specific hardware knowledge is not required.
“The addition of SMP support to DDC’s software is part of our continued investment in software updates and performance improvements for MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429 products,” said Mike Hegarty, DDC’s data bus marketing manager.
