NEXSYS® LOGIC Module is used in communications systems, computer/logic level interface, electro-mechanical, fire protection, and IFE systems.
The NEXSYS® LOGIC Module is a ruggedised, small form-factor enclosure that allows avionics system designers to mix-and-match specific electrical components and create a behind-the-panel solution to meet their exact functional requirements.
The LOGIC Module is ideal for many applications such as communications systems, computer/logic level interface to electro-mechanical systems, fire suppression systems, and IFE systems. LOGIC Modules can be used on a stand-alone basis or can be used in conjunction with VIVISUN® lighted pushbutton switch applications.
The LOGIC Module can be used for system-to-system interface or can be combined with man-machine interface devices such as illuminated pushbutton switches. LOGIC Modules can replace the expense and certification delays that are typically encountered when creating a circuit board to solve design challenges. With three different mounting options, LOGIC Modules deliver a powerful combination of configurable electronic components in a single robust package designed and tested in accordance with DO-160.
LOGIC component options
The LOGIC Module can accommodate a wide range of components with specific electronic functionality such as electronic flip-flops, solid state relays, diodes, and other more complex devices. Each LOGIC component is either a 4-pin device or an 8-pin device, and can occupy a position inside the body that is not already occupied by another LOGIC component.
LOGIC module configurations
A LOGIC Module has four available, 4-pin positions. Any 4-pin LOGIC component can occupy one of the available four positions.
LOGIC Modules can accommodate one or two 8-pin LOGIC components. Except for the ARINC 429 Converter, each 8-pin component will occupy two of the available positions. When one 8-pin component is used, it will occupy the two middle positions, leaving two open 4-pin positions. When two 8-pin components are used they will be configured side-by-side leaving no open positions.
The ARINC 429 Converter is an 8-pin component that has a larger form factor than the other 8-pin components. Because of this, a LOGIC Module with an ARINC 429 Converter component will have no positions for additional LOGIC components.
Unoccupied positions will be configured with an Open spacer. LOGIC Modules require the use of a connector plug (P/N 18-440).
