System is Fully Compliant with new EUROCAE ED-123 Standard
AD Aerospace is launching CabinVu-123 a new, low cost, flexible and easy-to-install cockpit door monitoring system (CDMS) which is fully compliant with the new EUROCAE ED-123 standard, released last week. The CDMS system gives enhanced security to the flight deck of commercial aircraft and provides compliance with the mandates now in force in countries around the world which follow the ICAO Standard (13.2.3(b) of Annex 6).
CabinVu-123 has a larger display (6in), simpler camera selection and a reduced number of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) in comparison to earlier systems. The switching unit has been relocated to the cabin overhead to reduce installation time and avoid use of a valuable avionics bay slot. The monitor and control panel are located in the cockpit centre pedestal for ease of use and viewing and the cameras are positioned to give full and comprehensive coverage of the area around the cockpit door.
The system provides the flight deck crew with clear, forward viewing, real-time video of the area outside the cockpit door. The cameras are flush mounted to the aircraft interior outside the secure cabin door and in the galley area in low-profile unobtrusive, color coordinated housings. Infra Red Illuminators are integrated within the camera housing to allow the area to be viewed even with the cabin lights extinguished and to reduce the silhouetting effects of backlighting.
This design of CabinVu-123 allows for maximum flexibility as the video switching unit can link to any combination of one to eight cameras, one to two monitors and one to two control panels depending on the configuration of the aircraft and the airlines requirements. The reduction in numbers of LRUs also enables a simplification of the installation kit decreasing the man hours needed for the install and therefore further reducing airlines costs.

CabinVu-123 is covered by existing STC’s for B737-200 to -900, B747, B757, B767, DC-10, Fokker 70/100, MD-80 and A330.
FlightVu cockpit door monitoring systems have been or are being installed on aircraft for, Air Seychelles, bmi, Britannia, BWIA, Corsair, easyJet, FlyJet, Germania, Hapag Lloyd, Britannia Nordic and MyTravel amongst others.
