AD Aerospace Ltd., Manchester, designer and manufacturer of aircraft video systems, has appointed new representatives in Australasia, Africa and the Middle East to expand and improve the service offered to existing and future customers in these exciting and dynamic regions.
Marc Hurley is based in Johannesburg, South Africa and has been appointed to cover the area of Sub-Saharan Africa. Malcolm Gatenby is based in Dubai and will cover the Middle East. Shaun Smith is based in Sydney, Australia and will be covering Australasia. All of these regions are growing areas for aircraft and commercial aerospace with over 1400 large commercial jets in operation and another 300 plus on order.

AD Aerospace produces the FlightVu range of state-of-the-art aircraft video systems. Security measures are being progressively improved and increased throughout the airline industry in recognition of the potential risks arising from terrorism, air rage and criminal activity. FlightVu CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) systems are being increasingly used by airlines world-wide to provide enhanced cockpit and cabin security protection of baggage in the cargo hold and enhanced safety in areas such as video smoke detection and monitoring of external control surfaces during flight.
The FlightVu range starts with the CabinVu "entry level" system, consists of video cameras located over the cockpit door and in the galleys linked to a monitor on the flight deck to improve pilots situational awareness. This is expandable to a full "FlightVu Witness" system, with camera coverage throughout the passenger cabin.
The complete Witness system uses a FlightVu digital video recorder/server to record the images for future use in investigation, analysis and prosecution, and can also be seamlessly integrated with ground based security systems using satellite links.
Other systems in the FlightVu range provide security in baggage and cargo holds, against tampering and theft, and for parked aircraft or to enhance safety with video smoke detection.
FlightVu customers include: Boeing, British Airways, Sama, Air Asia, Air Seychelles, bmi, Britannia, BWIA, Corsair, easyJet, Germania, Hapag Lloyd and MyTravel amongst others.
