AD Aerospace to Supply CabinVu-123
bmibaby, one of the UK’s largest economy airlines, has again selected AD Aerospace to supply cockpit door monitoring system for its B737 aircraft. This time bmibaby has opted for the CabinVu-123 system which has less LRUs, lower weight and simplified installation over earlier systems. The pilots will experience increased situational awareness with a clear and unrestricted view of any activity in the area outside the cockpit door and in the adjacent galleys thus improving aircraft security.
“We have continued our relationship with AD Aerospace based on the excellent service and products they have provided in the past to our growing business returned,” said Tim Berry, Operations Director, of bmibaby. “The CabinVu-123 cockpit door monitoring system helps increase the safety and security of our passengers and crew adding to the existing procedures we have in place.”
CabinVu-123 provides pilots with a forward looking, clear and unobstructed view of the area outside the cockpit door and in the adjacent galleys from their usual seated positions. A series of cameras link to either one or two monitors and controllers in the cockpit set forward of the pilots for ease and comfort of use.
This means that the pilots can visually identify anyone requesting entry and take appropriate action should an incident arise. This is in line with recommendations from International Civil Aviation Organisation ICAO Annex 6, JAR-OPS 1,1255 and EUROCAE ED-123.
“We at AD Aerospace are extremely happy that bmibaby have again come to us for cockpit door monitoring systems for its B737 fleet. With over 900 flights per week, bmibaby operate 60 routes across Europe and have recently launched three new routes to Krakow, Gdansk and Warsaw. A returning customer helps you realise that all the effort we put into customer service is worthwhile,” said Mike Horne, Managing Director, AD Aerospace. “We are sure that they will find the CabinVu-123 system as easy to use as their existing systems.”
FlightVu equipment has been or is being installed on aircraft for Boeing, Orient Thai, Neos, Hong Kong Airways, Blue Panorama, Comair, Hong Kong Express, bmi, British Airways, JetBlue, Thomsonfly, Air Asia, Corsair, easyJet, Hainan, Germania, TUIfly, Bangkok Airways, Sama and MyTravel amongst others.
