Mike Vernon, production manager at AD Aerospace (which is part of AD Group), has recently been awarded his masters degree as one of the first set of graduates to complete The Manufacturing Institute’s MSc in Manufacturing Leadership. Mike completed the two and a half year course supported throughout by AD Aerospace as part of its ongoing commitment to staff training and improvement as recognised by its Investors in People status.
“We are extremely proud of Mike’s achievement in obtaining his MSc in Manufacturing Leadership,” said Mike Horne, managing director of AD Aerospace. “The modules and dissertations on the course have all reflected real life within the company and have already lead to procedural improvements and cost savings.”
The Manufacturing Institute’s MSc in Manufacturing Leadership was developed in partnership with Lancaster University Management School for those driving lean and competitive manufacturing businesses. The course uses a combination of academic insights and industry know-how to deliver content applicable to and based on real life business challenges.
“The course has helped me see and think more strategically, to understand how decisions are made and why projects and indeed companies succeed or fail,” said Mike Vernon, production manager at AD Aerospace. “It has helped me greatly improve my awareness of the different departments within the company and how they must work together as a whole for a company to succeed and reach its potential.”
