AeroSvit, the Ukraine’s largest network carrier, has selected AD Aerospace, an AD Group company, to supply CabinVu in-flight security systems for fitting on its Boeing 767 and 737 aircraft.
The cockpit door monitoring system improves the safety of the cockpit by increasing the situational awareness of the pilots, providing them with a clear and unrestricted view of any activity in the area outside the cockpit door and in the adjacent galleys.
“With AeroSvit’s focus on providing our customers with high-quality service and modern standards of aviation security, CabinVu systems from AD Aerospace fitted us perfectly,” said Volodymyr Gaidash, director for public relations at AeroSvit-Ukrainian Airlines.
“CabinVu enhances our in-flight security by increasing our pilots’ awareness of the aircraft and gives them the security of knowing what is outside the cockpit door before opening it.”
CabinVu, the popular choice for cockpit door surveillance, provides pilots with a forward-looking, clear and unobstructed view of the area outside the cockpit door and in the adjacent galleys from their usual seated positions.
A series of cameras are linked to one or two monitors and associated controllers within easy reach of the pilots for comfort and ease of use.
With the view provided by the system the pilots can visually identify anyone requesting entry and take appropriate action should an incident arise. This is in line with recommendations from ICAO Annex 6, EUROCAE ED-123 and provides compliance with EU-OPS 1.1255 sub part S, FAA 14 CFR 121.313(k) and 14 CFR 121.584 (a). CabinVu is also good for operators due to its low weight and simple installation.
“AD Aerospace is very happy to welcome such a dynamic a progressive airline as AeroSvit as our latest customer,” said Mike Horne, managing director of AD Aerospace Ltd.
“They take their passengers’ safety and security very seriously and we are delighted to be able to help them with this, and look forward to supporting them for many years to come.”
