328 Support Services GmbH (328) has signed a two-year maintenance support agreement with Iceland-based multirole operator Eagle Air.
The contract will come into effect on February 2020.
Eagle Air has been operating one Dornier 328-100 turboprop since the middle of 2018, mainly on scheduled passenger services within Iceland. The contract will support any base-maintenance at 328’s headquarters near Munich and troubleshooting at Reykjavik.
Eagle Air CEO Hörður Guðmundsson said: “Operating around-the-clock on a variety of missions all over Iceland requires the security of a dependable and accessible maintenance provider.
“Over the past years, we have established a strong relationship with 328 management and their fine engineers and technicians at Oberpfaffenhofen and we are delighted to have them by our sides.”
328 managing director Dave Jackson said: “Eagle Air is for us a reliable business partner with high standards within the aviation industry. This new contract continues the strong relationship between both companies and we are happy to be the service provider for the next coming years.
“We are proud to have been selected to provide maintenance support to Eagle Air, which will be celebrating an impressive half a century of operation next year in 2020, when the contract officially begins.”
Founded in 1970 by Hörður Guðmundsson and his family, Eagle Air is a key transportation and security link in the Westfjords, one of the most remote parts of Iceland.
The airline’s initial focus was on ambulance services but later expanded its business strategy in offering domestic transportation services, cargo flights and emergency response.
Eagle Air remains a family operated business, aiming to be the regional leader in providing charter flight services in its target markets.
