Metzeler Technical Rubber Systems (TRS) is now a part of the newly formed CooperStandard Performance Products Group. CooperStandard, a leading manufacturer of automotive sealing and fluid products, acquired Metzeler TRS in 2008 in order to expand its presence in Europe.
Recently, CooperStandard has established the Performance Products Group in an effort to expand its non-automotive product lines. The aviation floor covering product line of Metzeler TRS continues to expand its customer base and meet the evolving needs of the airlines and aircraft OEM’s with products that outperform the competition.
Floorsil FCS is a fast curing two-part sealant system for floor coverings, offers an 85% reduction in cure time over our industry standard Floorsil 2 product. Airlines and OEM’s have been looking for a way to speed assembly and maintenance times for floor coverings in the galley and entry areas. Floorsil FCS has been in development for several years and has now been qualified by Airbus.
Floorsil FCS is used for perimeter sealing in the galley / entry areas as well as creating robust seams for larger non-textile floor covering (NTF) sheets. With a full cure time of less than 2 hours, there is considerably less time to complete an assembly process or to dispatch an aircraft in maintenance. Operator NTF replacements can now be accomplished by line maintenance on an overnight instead of requiring a hangar stay.
